This is the postcard road of Mallorca. From the hilltop town of Valldemossa the Ma-10 follows the north-west coast high above the sea, past the stone village of Deià, before dropping into the valley of Sóller. On a clear day the views run the whole length of the coast.

It is mostly downhill. You start at 413 m and finish close to sea level, with only 239 m of climbing along the way. The rises are short and gentle, at around 3%, and the longest comes after 13 km. In between, the road swings around headlands and through terraced olive groves.

That makes it one of the easier rides in the catalogue, and one of the best for a recovery day or a relaxed ride with friends. It is also a good route for practising your cornering line and keeping your speed through bends, even on a trainer. Even on tired legs, it is a pleasure to ride.

In Atlas Indoor every bend of the real road is in place, with your smart trainer easing off on the descents and adding resistance on the climbs. Ride it on its own as an easy spin, or follow it with the climb back up Puig Major for a big day.

How to ride Valldemossa, Deià and Sóller indoors

Keep it easy. Spin a light gear through the descents and ride the short rises at an endurance effort. The longest rise, after 13 km, lasts about 3 km, so settle into it rather than standing up and sprinting.
