Cap de Formentor is the long, narrow peninsula at Mallorca's northern tip. The road along it starts at sea level in Port de Pollença and ends at a lighthouse on the cliffs, with drops to the sea on both sides for much of the way. It is the ride every visitor to the north of the island wants to do.

The first climb is the biggest: almost 5 km at over 4% from the harbour up past the famous viewpoint over the Es Colomer rock. Then the road dives down towards the beach at Formentor, and climbs again in two more steps, the last one at more than 5%, before the final kilometres to the lighthouse.

In all you climb 520 m in 19.1 km, and the high point is 220 m. That makes it a moderate ride, but a varied one: a proper climb, a fast descent, and a punchy finish. It is a great route for practising climbs of a few minutes followed by quick recovery.

In Atlas Indoor you ride the real road in 3D, with your trainer adding resistance on every ramp. Use it to rehearse before a trip, or ride it on a winter evening and imagine the turquoise water below.

How to ride Cap de Formentor indoors

Climb the first 5 km at a firm but steady effort: it's the longest climb of the ride, and its steepest kilometre starts around 3.5 km. Recover on the descent towards Formentor beach, then ride the two later climbs harder, since they are shorter.
