Inland from the Nerja coast, the Axarquía is a maze of steep hills, white villages and narrow roads that wind between them. This loop is the longest route in Atlas Indoor: 75.8 km with 1,319 m of climbing, and a high point of 646 m.
It starts gently, along the coast, before turning inland. Then the hills begin. Three long climbs make up most of the day: more than 11 km at under 3% from around 16 km, a harder 7.6 km straight after, and a 6 km climb of over 4% just before halfway through the ride. Between them the road rarely stays flat for long.
This is the route for a long winter weekend ride, the kind you would normally only do outside in good weather. It builds the endurance and pacing that carry you through a sportive or a long club day, and it is hard enough to leave you properly tired.
In Atlas Indoor every climb is the real road, sent to your smart trainer as you ride. Load a structured workout on top, chase your best time with a ghost, or ride it as a club event with the leader holding the group together on the climbs.
